I absolutely love browsing through Pinterest. I love scrolling through the different pictures, repinning, scrolling some more and then pretty soon realizing I have spent hours doing this. Well below are some pins that caught my eye this week.
TRIBUTE TO PURITY | Evian and Elie Saab
First off, I love Elie Saab dresses. If you have 20 min to spare, please see his runway show. He definitely has a design style that marries femininity and lace. It is no wonder that his new “Tribute to Purity” Evian campaign reflects the same delicate, floral lace detail. This limited edition print is clean, simple, and pure. The lace almost looks like ice crystals on the bottle that helps send the message that there is water underneath the pretty exterior.
CONDÉ NAST | Business Cards
Condé Nast College of Fashion Design has definitely established their identity with these business cards. The back of the card has a collage of models wearing iconic dresses, which is then made a background to the name of school that has been strategically cut off. The front of the card has the iconic Vogue font that is accompanied by a simple sans serif font. The yellow rim around the edge gives a great finishing touch. The impression I receive is that this school is formal, established, but also modern.
What really caught my eye for this pattern was the knotted looking black diamonds. I feel this extra texture really sets this pattern apart from other over/under designs. The color scheme is definitely up my alley. I love simple, classic, neutral colors that complement others. And of course, with pinterest, nothing is ever what it seems at first. By clicking through the picture, I found out this pattern belonged to a purse.
Pinterest is a great resource for design inspiration. When I am stuck in design rut, I like to review my boards and pins to get a starting point or find the finishing touch I need.
